Rep. Shontel Brown, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 11th district since 2021, has expressed her views on recent events through a series of tweets. Brown, who succeeded Marcia Fudge and previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council, shared her concerns and updates with her followers.

On June 2, 2025, Rep. Shontel Brown addressed a violent incident in Boulder, expressing her distress over the attack. She stated, “I’m horrified and upset by the terrorist attack on people marching for the release of Israeli hostages today in Boulder.” She extended her prayers to the victims and their families and emphasized that Jewish people across the United States should be able to express themselves freely without fear.

In another tweet dated June 3, 2025, Brown criticized the Trump Administration for its handling of food safety issues. She claimed that “The Trump Administration failed to notify the public of an E. Coli outbreak and is reportedly attempting to pass off federal food safety inspections to the states.” Brown urged that political games should not interfere with food safety.

On June 4, 2025, Rep. Brown announced an upcoming event in her district. She tweeted about the OH-11 Housing Expo & Conference scheduled for Saturday, highlighting various breakout sessions available for attendees. These sessions will include presentations from Chief Magistrate Myra Embry of Cleveland Housing Court and Dannette Davis. In her words: “Our OH-11 Housing Expo & Conference this Saturday will feature a number of breakout sessions where attendees can get detailed information on topics.”

Shontel Brown was born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently resides in Warrensville Heights. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
