Rep. Shontel Brown, who represents Ohio’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, has raised concerns on social media about rising costs for essential services and recent policy decisions affecting her constituents.
On October 20, 2025, Brown posted about energy prices in Northeast Ohio: “People in NE Ohio are getting slammed with higher electric bills. Meanwhile Trump continues to cancel clean energy projects that would produce the additional power we need. We can’t afford the Republican agenda.”
The following day, she addressed health care coverage increases: “Millions of Americans are about to see huge price spikes for health care coverage, including 38,000 people in our district. House Democrats are standing with the American people: we’re ready to negotiate a bipartisan agreement that reopens the govt, lowers health care costs, and”
Later on October 21, Brown commented further on health care concerns: “Millions losing health care and this is what he cares about.”
Brown has represented Ohio’s 11th District since 2021 after serving on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. She was born in Cleveland in 1975 and resides in Warrensville Heights. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
