Rep. Shontel Brown, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 11th district, shared a series of thoughts and announcements on social media over recent days.

On April 20, 2025, Brown extended holiday greetings with her message: “Happy Easter from my family to yours! He is Risen Indeed!”

The following day, April 21, 2025, she expressed her condolences on the passing of a significant religious leader: “I join millions in mourning Pope Francis. Francis was a powerful voice for the poor and marginalized and a source of spiritual strength for Catholics in NE Ohio and around the world. May he rest in peace and his legacy continue.”

On April 22, 2025, Brown promoted an upcoming event meant to engage local entrepreneurs: “Our small business expo is less than 2 weeks away. I hope to see you there—register today at https://t.co/WjJoOvsKZW” This demonstrates her active engagement with her northeastern Ohio constituents, encouraging participation in business networking opportunities.

Shontel Brown was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1975 and currently resides in Warrensville Heights. Since 2021, she has served as a member of the U.S. Congress for the 11th District of Ohio, after having served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015. Brown is a graduate of Wilberforce University.
