U.S. Representative Shontel Brown, who serves Ohio’s 11th district, recently used her social media platform to highlight her office’s community engagement and to criticize former President Donald Trump’s economic policies.

On August 22, 2025, Brown shared her participation in a local event: “My office was honored to attend the @CityofCleveland and @CuyahogaCounty’s 2025 Success Fair and share information on the services we provide. Thank you to all the employers and agencies who participated in this important event.”

Three days later, on August 25, she posted about consumer prices under Trump-era tariffs: “Strollers… silverware… deodorant … all more expensive because of Trump’s terrible tariffs. Trump said he would lower prices – it’s not happening. It was just another lie from a lifetime scammer.”

Later that same day, Brown addressed tax policy and health care costs: “Tax cuts for Trump’s friends at Mar-a-Lago, higher health care premiums for people in Ohio. Don’t believe the lies: MAGA Republicans ripped off America.”

Brown has represented Ohio’s 11th congressional district since 2021 after serving on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. She was born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently resides in Warrensville Heights. Brown is an alumna of Wilberforce University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
