Rep. Shontel Brown, currently serving as a representative for Ohio’s 11th district since 2021, has been vocally critical of various actions by the Trump administration and figures like Elon Musk in a series of tweets. These tweets highlight concerns related to federal operations, impacts on Social Security, and regional initiatives.

On April 7, 2025, Rep. Brown, alongside Rep. Gerry Connolly, called for an investigation into the White House’s use of the Starlink service owned by Elon Musk. As indicated “Today @GerryConnolly and I demanded an investigation into the White House using Elon Musk’s Starlink service. This is a huge red flag. “

The following day, on April 8, 2025, she criticized the Trump administration’s decision to sell the Celebrezze federal building in Cleveland. Rep. Brown argued “The Trump Admin’s plan to sell the Celebrezze federal building is bad for taxpayers, bad for federal workers, and bad for Cleveland.”

Further, on April 9, 2025, she expressed her concerns regarding the future of Social Security under the Trump administration and Elon Musk’s influence, stating “Trump and Elon are breaking Social Security. They’re harming seniors and they simply do not care.”
