Shontel Brown, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 11th district, has been active on social media discussing recent events and initiatives she is involved in. Brown, who replaced Marcia Fudge in 2021 and previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021, continues to advocate for her constituents through various platforms.

On May 8, Brown expressed gratitude towards attendees of the “3rd Annual Small Business Expo” held the previous week. She emphasized her commitment to supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs within her community. “Thank you to everyone who attended our 3rd Annual Small Business Expo last week—so proud to fight for the small business owners and entrepreneurs in our community.”

The following day, May 9, Brown shared her participation in a meeting with colleagues from the Democratic Women’s Caucus and Gabby Giffords. The discussion centered around legislative efforts to combat gun violence. Brown highlighted the importance of these efforts by stating, “We owe it to the people we represent to keep fighting for safer communities.”

On May 10, Brown voiced her support for VA workers and veterans at Stokes VA. She criticized actions by Trump and Elon Musk aimed at reducing benefits and labor rights within the VA system. Her statement read: “Proud to stand with constituents today at Stokes VA in support of VA workers, veterans, and the benefits they’ve earned… It’s wrong and we’re fighting back.”

Born in Cleveland in 1975, Shontel Brown resides in Warrensville Heights. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
