Independence home prices rise in the first half of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2018 in Independence rose by $24,951 while total sales increased by 39.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2018, there were 46 homes sold, with a median sale price of $224,950 - a 12.5% increase over the $199,999 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 33 homes sold in Independence in the first half of 2017.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,557, approximately 2% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2018.
