Independence home prices rise in the second quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the second quarter of 2018 in Independence rose by $43,510 while total sales increased by 55.6%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From April through June of 2018, there were 28 homes sold, with a median sale price of $224,700 - a 24% increase over the $181,190 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 18 homes sold in Independence in the second quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2016, was $4,557, approximately 2% of the median home sale price for the second quarter of 2018.
