The first half of 2021: Home prices in Independence increased

The median sale price of a home sold in the first half of 2021 in Independence rose by $76,100 while total sales increased by 9.4%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From January through June of 2021, there were 35 homes sold, with a median sale price of $268,000 - a 39.7% increase over the $191,900 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 32 homes sold in Independence in the first half of 2020.

The median sales tax in Independence for the most recent year with available data, 2019, was $4,487, approximately 1.7% of the median home sale price for the first half of 2021.
