Department of Public Works Seeks Public Input Regarding Forbes Road (CR 123) Rehabilitation Project
The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is seeking public input on a project to resurface the pavement of Forbes Road (CR 123) from First Place to Richmond Road, in the Village of Oakwood and City of Bedford Heights. The project will include pavement resurfacing, as well as spot base repair, curb & gutter repair, curb ramp upgrades, casting adjustments and other affected minor repairs as needed.
The project is necessary to improve the pavement along Forbes Road, which is nearing the end of its useful life. Construction is tentatively scheduled for the Spring of 2023.
All work will be done within existing rights-of-way; therefore, no permanent or temporary right-of-way acquisition is required to complete the project. Traffic will be maintained during the duration of the project. No detours will be needed. Access to the Forbes Woods Picnic Area will be maintained during construction. Additionally, access to businesses and residences will remain open during construction. However, short durations for the specific drive’s apron replacement may be necessary. Substantial traffic disruptions are not expected during project construction.
The project will not have any impact on historic properties, community facilities, ecological resources, hazardous waste sites, or underserved populations in the area.
The Cuyahoga County Department of Public Works is requesting that any comments you may have regarding the proposed project, maintenance of traffic and/or environmental impacts be submitted by June 20, 2022 to:
