There were 700 Black students enrolled in Parma City School District in the 2023-24 school year, the same number as the previous school year, according to the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.

Data showed that Parma City School District welcomed 8,927 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, Black students made up 7.8% of the student body, making them the third most represented ethnicity in the district.

Parma City School District roughly covers 15 schools within Cuyahoga County and has its main office in Parma.

Among the 15 schools in Parma City School District, Valley Forge High School recorded the highest enrollment of Black students in the 2023-24 school year, with a total of 109 students.

In 2022, Ohio saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:15, which is better than the national average of 1:16. This marks an improvement for the state, especially compared to 2016, when the ratio reached its decade-high at 16.1 students per teacher.

Despite the apparent improvement, this positive trend is overshadowed by a general decline in public school enrollments, which was accelerated by the pandemic. This decline, aligned with the steady number of teachers in the state over the last 10 years, has led to low student-to-teacher ratios.
