Rep. Shontel Brown, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 11th district, has shared a series of tweets expressing her views and gratitude on various topics. Brown succeeded Marcia Fudge in 2021 and previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021.
On March 9, 2025, Rep. Shontel Brown marked International Women's Day by acknowledging influential women in her life. She specifically mentioned her colleague Jahana Hayes, whose birthday coincides with the day. "Happy #InternationalWomensDay! I’m thankful for all the amazing women who inspire me—including my friend @RepJahanaHayes, who’s celebrating her birthday today! Your leadership and passion make Congress—and our country better. Wishing you a wonderful day!"
Later that day, she reflected on her legislative efforts regarding veterans' health care benefits through the PACT Act. She expressed concern over potential Republican actions that could affect these benefits: "One of my proudest votes was for the PACT Act, which has expanded health care benefits for over 1600 veterans in OH-11 who were exposed to toxic chemicals. Now Republicans want to gut the VA and undermine those benefits. It's wrong."
In another tweet posted shortly after, Rep. Brown criticized Elon Musk and former President Donald Trump concerning their impact on veterans: "Elon is a waste, Trump is a fraud, and what they're doing to veterans is committing abuse."
