Rep. Shontel Brown, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 11th district, has voiced her opposition to a Continuing Resolution (CR) bill through a series of tweets. Brown, who replaced Marcia Fudge in 2021 and previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council, shared her views on social media regarding the proposed legislation.
On March 11, 2025, Rep. Brown expressed her intention to vote against the CR bill by stating: "Why am I voting NO to this CR bill? Because ultimately it’s 99 pages of Project 2025."
In a subsequent tweet posted on March 12, 2025, she criticized the nature of the funding bill: "This isn’t a clean funding bill – it’s a blank check to Trump and Musk to play games with the federal budget. This bill cuts domestic programs, undermines VA health care, and jeopardizes local infrastructure projects. Which explains why Republicans aren't holding Town Halls."
Later that day, Rep. Brown further elaborated on her concerns about the implications of the legislation: "This is the first step in Trump & Musk's plan to dismantle the Dept of Education, wage war on public schools, and eliminate programs critical to student success. All for tax cuts for the rich."
