On April 11, 2025, Rep. Brown emphasized the need for accountability, stating, "Yes, we need answers. Just a massive massive red flag. @GerryConnolly and I believe the Oversight Committee should actually provide oversight, even if the GOP looks the other way." Shontel Brown has been serving in the U.S. Congress since replacing Marcia Fudge in 2021. Before her congressional service, Brown was a member of the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Brown was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and resides in Warrensville Heights. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
