U.S. Congressman Max Miller has introduced the Time is Money Act, aiming to amend current airline compensation regulations for delayed flights. The proposed legislation would require airlines to compensate passengers one hour earlier than existing rules dictate.
“Passengers shouldn’t have to front the bill for airline delays,” said Congressman Miller. “Hard-working Americans don’t have endless time to waste stuck in terminals before qualifying for compensation. Every hour spent waiting is time taken from work, family, and other responsibilities. The Time is Money Act puts passengers first and holds airlines accountable.”
The act calls on the Secretary of Transportation to update regulations by reducing the delay threshold from three hours to two hours for domestic flights and from six hours to five hours for international flights. This change aims to ensure that passengers receive compensation more promptly when their travel plans are disrupted.
Congressman Max Miller represents Ohio’s Seventh District, which includes Medina and Wayne counties as well as parts of Cuyahoga and Holmes counties. He serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. The Republican sophomore members selected him as their representative to the Republican Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Republican Study Committee and Main Street Caucus. Prior to his congressional role, Miller served six years in the Marine Corps Reserves and held several senior positions under President Donald Trump.
