Rep. Shontel Brown, who represents Ohio’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently shared updates on her activities and positions through a series of posts on social media.
On August 8, 2025, Brown highlighted her participation in an event focused on veterans’ issues, stating: "Today, as part of House Democrats’ Honor Our Veterans Day of Action, I sat down with local veterans and advocates to hear their stories and concerns. I remain committed to standing up for our veterans and making sure they get the care and respect they deserve."
Later that day, she addressed the closure of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Northeast Ohio. In her post dated August 8, 2025, Brown wrote: "A @PPFA clinic closed in Northeast Ohio last month—and more clinics could follow. Let’s break down how this is a direct result of Trump and Republicans in Congress."
On August 10, 2025, Brown shared her experience attending a community event: "Had a great time at the Warrensville Heights Summer Festival. Thanks to everyone who spoke with us at the event. Proud to represent this community!"
Brown has represented Ohio’s 11th District since 2021 after succeeding Marcia Fudge. Before joining Congress, she served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently residing in Warrensville Heights, Brown is also an alumna of Wilberforce University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
