U.S. Representative Shontel Brown, who represents Ohio’s 11th district in Congress, recently posted a series of messages on social media addressing national and local political issues, including concerns about former President Donald Trump’s policies and reminders for upcoming elections.
On September 6, 2025, Brown criticized Republican support for Donald Trump and warned about the potential consequences of oppressive policies. She wrote, "It may be easy for MAGA Republicans to cheer on Trump’s attacks on people in cities like Chicago and look away as his policies hurt millions without wealth or influence in places like Cleveland. But know this – once oppression starts, the rights of all are at risk."
Two days later, on September 8, 2025, Brown reminded constituents about the upcoming primary elections in Cuyahoga County. She posted, "Tuesday September 9 is Primary Election Day for many cities in Cuyahoga County, including Cleveland. In another post on September 8, she addressed health insurance costs under Republican leadership: "Health insurance will cost more thanks to Trump and his MAGA puppets in Congress https://t.co/7PLyGz2QVb".
Brown has served Ohio’s 11th congressional district since replacing Marcia Fudge in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and now residing in Warrensville Heights, Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
