State Representative Tom Patton (R-Strongsville) has announced $1,045,716 in funding for improvements to the I-71 Pearl Road exit in Brunswick. The funds are provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation's Highway Safety Improvement Program.
"Investing in infrastructure is always a good thing," said Patton. "This project in particular will help alleviate the major congestion problem in southwest Cuyahoga County, while making our roads even safer."
The Highway Safety Improvement Program is allocating $87 million statewide for 28 projects across 22 counties.
The planned improvements at the Pearl Road exit include upgrading the stop-controlled intersection to a signalized intersection and realigning the right-turn slip lane. Construction is scheduled to begin in fiscal year 2026.
