WASHINGTON, D.C. – On May 1, Rep. Shontel Brown (OH-11) announced she will proudly serve as a Member of the Congressional Equality Caucus during the 118th Congress. As a Member of the Equality Caucus, Rep. Brown will support the Caucus’ mission to promote equality for all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex characteristics.

“Let’s be clear: LGBTQI+ rights are human rights,” said Rep. Shontel Brown. “I am honored to join the Congressional Equality Caucus as a Member this Congress and look forward to working with Equality Caucus Chair Rep. Mark Pocan and the Caucus Co-Chairs to ensure equal protection under the law for LGBTQI+ people in Northeast Ohio and across the country.

“As anti-LGBTQI+ extremists and state legislatures continue to attack the community, the work of the Equality Caucus is more important than ever. As a long-time ally of the LGBTQI+ community, and now as a member of the Equality Caucus, I remain committed to advocating for the LGBTQI+ community in Congress.”
