Rep. Shontel Brown, who represents Ohio’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, used her social media accounts this week to express concerns about former President Donald Trump’s actions and to call for transparency regarding the release of files related to Jeffrey Epstein.
On September 2, 2025, Brown posted on X that "Congress is back in session and the first thing I did today was go straight to the House floor to speak. We need to look around at what is happening, from Trump's military patrols in US cities to attacks on due process - our freedoms are at stake." Later that day, she reiterated her position by stating "Trump is seeking profound changes to our country. Today, I spoke on the House floor on how our freedom is at stake."
On September 3, 2025, Brown addressed a separate issue involving documents connected with Jeffrey Epstein. She wrote: "Trump needs to release ALL the Epstein Files. That’s why I signed the Massie/Khanna discharge petition to force a vote on legislation to release the files. Republican leadership in Congress must stop colluding in Trump's coverup."
Brown has served as a member of Congress since 2021 after replacing Marcia Fudge and previously served on Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 until her election to federal office. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently residing in Warrensville Heights, Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
