Rep. Shontel Brown, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 11th district, recently shared her views on several pressing issues via social media. Brown has been in office since 2021 after succeeding Marcia Fudge and previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council.
On February 18, 2025, Rep. Brown criticized former President Trump's decision to freeze funding, stating that it is detrimental to Northeast Ohio. She emphasized that "President Trump’s funding freeze is wrong on the merits, wrong on the law, and wrong for Northeast Ohio." According to Brown, this action negatively impacts local jobs, energy prices, and environmental conditions in the region.
In another post dated February 19, 2025, she addressed concerns regarding federal workers and public health risks. She commented on actions by Trump and Elon Musk as "Trump and Musk's reckless attack on federal workers will have real consequences", citing potential increases in prices and health hazards.
On the same day, she also informed residents about available resources during cold weather conditions. Her message was straightforward: "Know someone who needs a warm place to go? Warming Centers are open in Cleveland."
