On April 27, 2025, Rep. Shontel Brown expressed gratitude towards Senator Cory Booker and Representative Hakeem Jeffries for their advocacy. She acknowledged their efforts in opposing the policies from the former Trump Administration, stating, "Thank you @SenBooker @RepJeffries for lifting up the voice of the people! @HouseDemocrats and @TheBlackCaucus are fighting back against the disastrous Trump Agenda."

On April 28, 2025, Brown paid tribute to Ranking Member Gerry Connolly for his many years of service. She commended his leadership, which fostered transparency within the new administration. Also, on April 28, 2025, Brown criticized former President Donald Trump's unfulfilled promise regarding economic prices. She highlighted the adverse effects of his trade policies, stating, "Trump said prices would drop on Day 1. It's Day 100 and all he's done is start a trade war that's raising prices. Make it make sense."

Shontel Brown, born in Cleveland, Ohio, and currently residing in Warrensville Heights, holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University. Brown has served in the Cuyahoga County Council and continues to work in U.S. Congress, advocating for transparency and accountability.
