Rep. Shontel Brown, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Ohio's 11th district since 2021, has recently shared several updates via social media, highlighting her engagements and reflections on significant historical events.

On May 16, 2025, Rep. Brown expressed gratitude to those involved in making the OH-11 Small Business Expo a success. She conveyed her admiration for local entrepreneurs with the message: "Thanks to everyone who made our OH-11 Small Business Expo a success. I’m always inspired by the drive and determination of NE Ohio entrepreneurs."

Later that day, she extended an invitation to homeowners and renters in Northeast Ohio for an upcoming event aimed at providing housing resources and information. The announcement read: "Are you a homeowner or renter looking for resources and information? Northeast Ohio—join us at the 2nd Annual OH-11 Housing Expo and Conference on June 7! Connect with local organizations, explore housing assistance programs, and learn more from agencies, lenders, and more."

On May 17, Rep. Brown commemorated a pivotal moment in American history—the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Board of Education which declared segregation in public schools unconstitutional. Her reflection emphasized ongoing efforts toward educational equity: "On this date 71 years ago the Supreme Court ruled segregation in public schools was unconstitutional in Brown v. Board of Education. As we celebrate this anniversary, we must keep working to ensure fairness, anti-discrimination, and equal access in education."

Shontel Brown is known for her commitment to serving Ohio's 11th District since succeeding Marcia Fudge in Congress after having served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021.
