Shontel Brown, a U.S. Congress representative for Ohio's 11th district, recently addressed several pressing issues through her social media posts. Brown, who has been serving in Congress since 2021 and previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council, took to Twitter to express her views on legislative matters and incidents of violence.

On May 22, 2025, Brown commented on a proposed bill by House Republicans, describing it as "Trump's Big Ugly Bill." She highlighted that the bill aims to remove millions of Americans from Medicaid and SNAP benefits. "House Republicans are so proud of Trump's Big Ugly Bill to kick millions of Americans off Medicaid and SNAP that they're... going to vote on it at 4:30 AM," she stated.

In a subsequent post made later that day, Brown criticized the timing and impact of the Republican-led bill targeting SNAP and Medicaid recipients in Ohio. She asserted her commitment to opposing the legislation alongside fellow Democrats. "Republicans are trying to throw hundreds of thousands of Ohioans off SNAP and Medicaid in the middle of the night. @HouseDemocrats are fighting this bill. I'm on the floor to speak up for NE Ohio."

In another tweet posted shortly after, Brown condemned an act of violence against Israeli embassy staff members near the Capital Jewish Museum. Expressing her dismay at such targeted attacks, she emphasized their broader implications for society. "I am alarmed and saddened by the killing of two Israeli embassy staff outside the Capital Jewish Museum. Political violence, antisemitism, and targeted acts like this are unacceptable, a threat to us all, and must be condemned."

Shontel Brown is known for her active role in advocating for her constituents' needs and addressing critical national issues.
