Rep. Shontel Brown, U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 11th district since 2021, has recently used her social media platform to address a range of issues from agricultural policy to economic concerns and the contributions of congressional interns.
On July 31, 2025, Brown criticized former President Donald Trump’s administration for its impact on farmers. She wrote, "The Trump Administration is back at it hurting farmers instead of helping them. This week, I joined @RepAdams and dozens of colleagues to call them out. Let me break it down."
Later that day, she acknowledged the work of her office's interns in a post celebrating National Intern Day: "Happy #NationalInternDay! I'm incredibly grateful for the bright, passionate interns who joined Team Brown this summer. Your energy, curiosity, and commitment to public service have made a lasting impact on our office and OH-11." The message highlighted the role interns play in supporting her work on behalf of Ohio’s 11th district.
On August 1, 2025, Brown again addressed economic issues under Trump-era policies: "Trump’s policies aren’t working. He’s making the economy weaker, unemployment higher, and life more expensive."
Brown succeeded Marcia Fudge as representative for Ohio's 11th district in 2021 after previously serving on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently residing in Warrensville Heights, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
