Rep. Shontel Brown, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Ohio’s 11th district since 2021, addressed economic and legislative issues in a series of posts on August 12, 2025.

In her first post, Brown criticized the economic impact of former President Donald Trump’s policies on Black Americans, stating on August 12, 2025: "Trump's economy is hurting Black Americans. Don't tell me you're surprised."

Later that day, she expanded her critique to the broader effects of Trump-era policies on consumer costs and tax benefits. On August 12, 2025, she wrote: "Trump's policies are making life more expensive - from cars to coffee to clothes. His friends get tax cuts, we get the bill."

In a third post on August 12, 2025, Brown highlighted her engagement with constituents at a local event and her subsequent decision to support new legislation. She stated: "At our town hall in Shaker Heights a constituent recommended legislation by @RepSaraJacobs. We checked it out and now I’m cosponsoring the bill! Your feedback matters - thank you."

Brown has represented Ohio’s 11th District in Congress since replacing Marcia Fudge in 2021. Before joining Congress, she served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently residing in Warrensville Heights, Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
