U.S. Representative Shontel Brown, who serves Ohio’s 11th district in Congress, recently addressed issues affecting Americans through a series of posts on her social media account, focusing on healthcare access, rising energy costs, and support for local farmers.
On August 15, 2025, Brown commented on the potential impact of recent legislation: "The numbers don’t lie: because of Trump’s Big Ugly Bill - millions will lose their healthcare."
Three days later, she highlighted concerns about household expenses in another post dated August 18, 2025: "Home energy costs are skyrocketing under Trump and set to go higher because of cuts in the Big Ugly Bill. Everyday Americans can't afford Trump's economy."
That same day, Brown described her efforts as Vice Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee to connect with local farmers. In a tweet posted on August 18, 2025, she stated: "As Vice Ranking Member on the House Agriculture Committee, I’m committed to helping small & family-owned farms thrive. I visited farms in Wellington, Auburn Township, and Middlefield to hear from Ohio farmers about the challenges they face and how we can help more farms grow."
Brown has represented Ohio’s 11th congressional district since 2021 after succeeding Marcia Fudge. Prior to her tenure in Congress, she served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently residing in Warrensville Heights at age 47, Brown is an alumna of Wilberforce University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
