U.S. Representative Shontel Brown, who represents Ohio’s 11th district in Congress, addressed several policy issues and legislative efforts in a series of tweets published between August 20 and August 21, 2025.

On August 20, Brown commented on economic concerns, writing, "The American people are asking for lower grocery and housing prices. Meanwhile, Trump is busy attacking the Smithsonian for being too 'woke' for including information about slavery. Make it make sense."

Later that same day, she discussed the impact of tariffs on home repair costs: "Home repairs are more expensive because of Trump’s tariffs. More bad policy from an out of touch White House that isn’t on our side."

On August 21, Brown highlighted her legislative efforts to address women’s health disparities: "Too many women suffer in silence with uterine fibroids. That’s why I reintroduced the U-FIGHT Act to fund more research, improve early detection, and address the disparities impacting women’s health. This fight is personal, and I won’t stop until we see real progress."

Brown has represented Ohio’s 11th District since 2021 after succeeding Marcia Fudge. She previously served on the Cuyahoga County Council from 2015 to 2021. Born in Cleveland in 1975 and currently residing in Warrensville Heights, Brown holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wilberforce University.
