Rep. Shontel Brown discusses SNAP Challenge and other issues in recent tweets

Rep. Shontel Brown, representing Ohio’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, shared her recent activities and statements through a series of tweets. Her posts reflect on social issues such as food security and education, as well as government accountability.

On March 21, 2025, Rep. Brown participated in the SNAP Challenge with the Cleveland Food Bank at Dave's in Midtown. She attempted to purchase a week's worth of groceries with just $42, which she notes is "the average SNAP budget per person." She highlighted that "1 in 5 households" in Northeast Ohio depend on SNAP benefits to afford food. Brown described the experience as "eye-opening" ("This week, I took the SNAP Challenge...").

Later that day, Rep. Brown issued a statement concerning the Trump administration's decision to dismantle the Department of Education ("My statement on Trump administration dismantling the Department of Education:").

On March 22, 2025, she highlighted the achievements of the Office of General Counsel for Fiscal Year 2023. According to her post, the Office managed to return more than $3.4 billion to federal coffers and individuals from civil healthcare fraud settlements and judgments ("The Office of General Counsel protects patients from fraud...").
